Sanford Meridian fell to 10-1 overall and 7-0 in the TVC Central with a 45-34 loss to Hemlock on Monday. Hemlock was up 9-6 after the first quarter, 25-16 at halftime and 34-22 after the third quarter. Kevin Scheibert had nine points for Sanford Meridian while Jacob Wenzlick added eight. 

 

Hemlock improved to 9-3 overall and 7-0 in the TVC Central on Monday by handing Sanford Meridian its first loss of the season 45-34. Hemlock was up 9-6 after the first quarter, 25-16 at halftime and 34-22 after the third quarter. Jacob Rowley scored 15 points for Hemlock while Ethan Apsey had seven points, Brad Fleischmann scored seven points, John Kaufmann added six points and nine rebounds and Alex Merchant had six points.

 

Shepherd fell to 5-9 overall and 2-6 in the TVC Central with a 43-34 loss to Ithaca Friday night in boys basketball action. Ithaca trailed 10-8 after the first quarter but led 20-15 at halftime and 33-22 after the third quarter. Shepherd had a 12-10 scoring advantage in the fourth.

 

Ithaca improved to 4-9 overall and 3-5 in the TVC West with a 43-34 girls basketball Friday night. Ithaca trailed 10-8 after the first quarter but led 20-15 at halftime and 33-22 after the third quarter. Shepherd had a 12-10 scoring advantage in the fourth. Maddy Brock had 11 points while Kylee Chaffin and Brooklyn Dolloff had nine apiece for Ithaca. Lacie Mates had  six points for Ithaca. Chaffin had 12 rebounds.

 

Morley Stanwood improved to 7-4 overall and 7-3 in the CSAA with a 63-46 win over Hesperia Friday night. Tim Cairnduff scored 18 points and had seven rebounds and eight assists for the Mohawks. Freshman Nic Huntey had 17 points plus three assists and Andrew Sackett and Tom Carey had seven and six rebounds respectively.

 

Chippewa Hills boys basketball team scored a 59-33 victory over White Cloud Friday night. Chippewa Hills improved to 3-7 overall and 3-5 in the CSAA. Michael Todd led the Warriors with 18 points and three 3-pointers while Hunter Cooley netted 14 points. 

 

Big Rapids improved its boys basketball record to 8-2 overall and 7-2 in the CSAA with a 57-43 win over Central Montcalm Friday night.  Quinn Tyson scored 18 points for Big Rapids while Jake Hayes and Matt Brejcha had seven points apiece. Central led 13-12 after the first quarter but Big Rapids was up 26-23 at halftime, 40-34 after the third quarter and Big Rapids had a 17-9 scoring edge in the final quarter.

 

Big Rapids Crossroads posted a 59-56 West Michigan D League victory over Mason County Eastern. Crossroads, 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the WND, was up 13-11 after the first quarter, 29-16 at halftime and 46-41 after the third quarter. Aron Garland netted 22 points while James Strickland had 10 points.

 

 

Mount Pleasant lost to Saginaw Arthur Hill 86-67 Friday night in boys basketball action. Arthur Hill was up 21-15 after the first quarter, 42-30 at halftime and 60-47 after the third quarter. Arthur Hill had a 26-20 scoring advantage in the fourth. Jaleel Hogan had 29 points, followed by Aaron Leaher with 16 and T.J. Johnson with 13. Hogan had 10 rebounds, followed by T.J. Johnson with six.

 

Eric Davis netted 43 points to spearhead Saginaw Arthur Hill past Mount Pleasant 86-67 Friday night in boys basketball action. Arthur Hill is now 10-2. Arthur Hill was up 21-15 after the first quarter, 42-30 at halftime and 60-47 after the third quarter. Arthur Hill had a 26-20 scoring advantage in the fourth. He also had even rebounds, six assists and two blocks. Donte Lee had 11 points, followed by Caylon Young with 10 points and Brian Bowen with nine points and 12 rebounds for Arthur Hill.
