Chase Challender of Charlotte was a district champion at 215 pounds last Saturday. Also for Charlotte, Eric Wales at 125, Robert Miller at 160 and Jake Gravina at 171 took second place. Zach Telfor at 215 and Austin Schwensen at 130. The top four finishers in each class will be in the regionals this weekend.

Lowell crowned nine of the 14 champions in the Division 2 districts last Saturday. Champions from the districts are Lucas Hall at 112, Zeth Dean at 119, Derek Krajewski at 125, Bailey Jack at 130, Jordan Hall at 135, Kanon Dean at 160, Max Dean at 171, Garret Stehley at 189 and Josh Colegrove at 215.

 

Second-place finishers were Jacob Garcia at 152, Dan Kruse at 140 and Kyle Washburn at 103. Sam Russell was third at 103. Logan Wilcox was fourth at 285. The top four finishers in each class will be in the regionals this weekend.

 

Rockford placed three champions in the Division I individual districts on Saturday. Brandon Houle at 215 pounds, Jared Bennett at 112 and Stephen Jendritz at 119 took first place. Brent Showers was runner-up at 285. Braden Zych was third at 145. Terry Gant was fourth at 125. Caleb Childers was fourth at 171. Wrestlers that placed in the top four advance to the regionals this Saturday.

 

Fulton has two wrestlers that placed third in the Division 4 districts last Saturday and have advanced to this Saturday’s individual regionals. Trevor Hilgendorf defeated Taylor Barkley of Carson City Crystal while Owen Hilgendorf topped Ryan Bockheim in the consolation finals.

 

Several Carson City-Carson wrestlers took first place at the Division 4 individual districts last Saturday and will wrestle in the individual regionals this Saturday. The top four in each class go to regionals. Champs for CC-C were twin brothers Darren and Dillon Decker at 145 and 152, and Dallas O’Green at 125,  Austin Hopkins was second at 215. Frank Smith was fourth at 189.Taylor Barkley was fourth at 112.

 

Clayton Howd won the 189-pound class for St. Louis in the Division 4 individual districts on Saturday. He will advance to the individual regionals this Saturday. Jed Abbott was first at 134. Konnor Holton took second at 119. Marcus Beeson at 103 and Mykhalo Hetmansky at 285 were third. Joe Eager was third at 152, while Martin Lopez at 119 and Zack Ross at 145 were fourth. Jackson Miller was fourth at 160.

Joe Durham won the 160-pound class for Montabella in the Division 4 individual districts on Saturday and will advance to the individual regionals this Saturday. Danny Davidson was first at 285 pounds

The top four place finishers in each weight class advance to the regionals.

 

Jonny Durham was second at 171. Dustin Scott at 125 and Zack Taubitz at 145 took second places. Also for Montabella, Judson Klichermann placed fourth at 215. Dalton Kuklewski was third at 135.

 

Chippewa Hills defeated Central Montcalm 51-24 and Tri-County 37-24 to take the Division 3 regional title Wednesday at Clare. Going 2-0 for the Warriors were Kaden Ellis at 112, Zach King at 119, Mike Felix at 125 and Eric Russell at 171. Mason Dey at 145, Kevn Briscoe at 152, Slade Todd at 135 and Keaton Zuern at 103 were all 1-0. Chippewa Hills wrestles Feb. 21 at the state finals in Battle Creek.

Portland senior Tanner Allison recently signed a national letter of intent to play baseball at Western Michigan University. Allison will be a four-year varsity player this spring. Last season, he batted .491 for a school record with 16 doubles and 29 RBIs. He reportedly drew interest from other schools such as Michigan State, Michigan and Kentucky. He’s a Division 2 all-stater from 2013 and will play outfield and pitcher at Western.

 

Lake Odessa Lakewood qualified several wrestlers for the individual regionals this Saturday by virtue of their performances last Saturday at individual districts. The top four in each division qualify for regionals. Jordon Bennett was first at 140 pounds. Garrett Phelps was second at 171 pounds.
