Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart ended Fruitport Calvary Christian’s season last Friday in the Class D regionals finals with a 65-46 victory. Sacred Heart was up 16-11 after the first quarter, 36-20 at halftime and 54-32 after the third quarter. Averi Gamble and Sara Hansen combine for 42 points to lead the Fighting Irish.

 

Mount Pleasant had a 28-6 third quarter to spur a 74-53 win over Traverse City West on Monday in Class A regional semifinal boys basketball action. Aaron Leasher had 21 points while T.J. Johnson added 14 points and Tim Wilson had nine points.

 

Midland Dow’s boys basketball season ended with a 42-40 loss to Mount Pleasant in the Class A district finals Friday. Mount Pleasant was up 14-8 after the first quarter, 20-15 at halftime and 30-26 after the third quarter. Evan Marquardt with 17 points and Alec Marty with 11 points led Midland Dow.

 

Jaleel Hogan had a layup with 10 seconds left to lift the Mount Pleasant Oilers to a 42-40 win over Midland Dow in the Class A district finals. Mount Pleasant was up 14-8 after the first quarter, 20-15 at halftime and 30-26 after the third quarter. Aaron Lasher was led by Mount Pleasant with 14 points while T.J. Johnson had 11 points and Hogan added nine.

Belding’s boys basketball season ended Monday in the Class B regional semifinals with a 54-34 loss to Saginaw Swan Valley.

 

Swan Valley was up 11-6 after the first quarter, 32-12 at halftime and 43-25 after the third quarter. Swan Valley had an 11-9 scoring advantage in the final eight minutes. Bryce Wilker had nine points for Belding.

 

Saginaw Swan Valley posted a 54-34 regional Class B semifinal win over Belding Monday. Swan Valley was up 11-6 after the first quarter, 32-12 at halftime and 43-25 after the third quarter. Swan Valley had an 11-9 scoring advantage in the final eight minutes. Swan Valley was led by Brock Notter with 16 points, Garret Preston with 14 points and Nick Call with 12 points.

 

Holt succumbed to a rally from Kalamazoo Central in Monday’s Class A regional semifinal game and lost 62-59. Holt was up 22-6 after the first quarter and 36-20 at halftime and 45-37 after the third quarter. But Central had a 25-14 scoring advantage. Don’quall Jackson had 17 points, followed by Trent Stone with 14 points.

 

Lansing Eastern’s boys basketball season ended with a 68-57 loss on Monday in the Class A regional semifinals to Ann  Arbor Skyline. Skyline was up 22-15 after the first quarter, 35-21 at halftime and 48-42 after the third quarter. Skyline had a 20-15 scoring advantage in the fourth. Dre Drummond had 22 points for Eastern while Tyrome Maxwell and Tameron Williams-Baker had 10 points apiece. 

 

Lansing Eastern celebrated a Class A district title last Friday with a 42-38 victory over Okemos in the finals and improved to 15-7. Lansing Eastern trailed 15-14 after the first quarter but led 24-22 at halftime. Eastern was up 34-30 after the third quarter. Both teams scored eight points in the fourth. Tyrome Maxell scored 14 points for Eastern while Dre Dentmond had 12 points and Tameron Williams-Baker added eight points. 

 

Okemos’ boys basketball season ended with a 42-38 loss to Lansing Eastern in Class A district title action Friday. Lansing Eastern trailed 15-14 after the first quarter but led 24-22 at halftime. Eastern was up 34-30 after the third quarter. Both teams scored eight points in the fourth. Connor George scored nine points for Okemos and Edward Smith added eight.
