Haylee Sigafoose of Ithaca competed in the Division 4 bowling state finals earlier this month in battle Creek, Sigafoose finished 32nd with a score of 940 and did not qualify for the round of 16. Heidi Seeley of Ithaca was 58th with an 826.

 

Big Rapids Crossroads track team had finishers last week in the Grand Valley State Laker Challenge indoor meet. Andy Duddles won the long jump in 20-7. He ran on the 4 x 300 relay team that placed sixth in 2:39.95. Jacob Romay was  fourth in the long jump at 19-3 and Brandly was sixth in the 800 meters in 2:08.26. Sprik for the Crossroads girls placed  17th in the 200 meters in 30.84.

 

Chippewa Hills’ girls track team had finishers last week in the Grand Valley State Laker Challenge indoor meet. Megan O’Neil took second in the 800 meters in 2:18.27 and eighth in the 1,600 meters in 5:31.17. O’Neil ran with Kylie Schafer, Emily Starck and Nicole Snyder on the 4 x 600 relay team that placed third in 7:08.01. Jennifer McNeal was second in the 400 meters 1:01.03 for the Warriors and joined Snyder, Alexis Issette and Riley Reyes on the 4 x 300 relay squad that was fifth in 3:02.53. Erin Drouillard was fourth in the pole vault in 11-0 while Emonee Anderson was seventh in the high jump at 4-10) and Amanda Koepf eighth in the shot put 34-2.

Trevor Humphrey took first in the pole vault at 13 feet. The 4 x 300 relay team of Jon Wixson, Brandon Wolliston, Eric Russell and David Painter was eighth in 2:34.60, and the 4 x 600 relay team of Wolliston, Painter, Austin Spedowski and Aaron Wheat was 10th in 6:17.66). Wixson was 10th in the 60-meter hurdles (8.90).

 

 Big Rapids’ boys and girls track team had finishers last week n the Grand Valley State Laker Challenge indoor meet. For Big Rapids, in the boys meet, Alex MacLean was fifth in the pole vault at 11-0 and Robert Green was 10th in the long jump at 19-3. Alexis Pylman was 10th in the girls meet for Big Rapids with a pole vault of 9-0.

 

Dan Rios of Hemlock and Jason Krupp of New Lothrop competed in the state finals for Division 4 bowlers earlier this month in Battle Creek. Rios was 29th in the qualifying block with a 1,020. Jason Krupp of New Lothrop was 38th with a score of 981. The top 16 advanced to the next round.

 

Kaeden Greer of Ithaca was in the Round of 16 in the Division 4 state bowling finals earlier this month. He lost in the Round of 16 to Alex Garga of Rogers City 372-358. Greer placed 11th out of the qualifying block with a 1,096. Donald Carl of Ithaca also competed and was 22nd in the qualifying block with a 1,048.

 

Joey Cole of Lakeview was in the Round of 16 for the Division 4 state bowling finals earlier this month. Cole lost to Kyle Tuttle of St Charles in the Round of 16 by a score of  337-311. Cole bowled six games of 1,086 in the qualifying round to place 15th. Other Lakeview bowlers were Ryan Finup, who finished 18th in the qualifying round with a 1,073 and Kyler Ridgeway who was 26th with a 1,034.

Connor Pilmore of St. Louis was a quarterfinalist this season in the Division 4 state singles bowling finals at Battle Creek in early March. Zach Fenby, also of St Louis, beat Pilmore 445-373 in the quarterfinals. Pilmore beat teammate Jeffrey Fisher 332-308 in the Round of 16.

 

Josh Dubay of Saginaw Valley Lutheran was a quarterfinalist this season in the Division 4 state singles bowling finals at Battle Creek in early March. Dubay lost his quarterfinal match to Alex Darga of Rogers City 338-292. Dubay beat David Hunt of Big Rapids Crossroads in the Round of 16 by a score of  362-317. Dubay advanced out of the qualifying block to the final 16.
