Hannah Chase of Alma was a state-runner-up bowler in Division 3 this season following the finals March 1 at Airport Lanes in Jackson. Chase lost to Heather Bruci of Richmond in the finals 428-323. Chase had defeated Hannah Eldridge of Corunna in the semifinals 347-341.

 

Riley Skornicka of Farwell was a state qualifier at the finals for Division 3 boys bowlers in early March at Jackson. He was 47th with a 1.020. Cody Tenis of Durand was 44th with a 1,046. The top 16 advanced to the next round.

 

Nathan Louch of Ovid-Elsie was among the Division 3 state qualifiers this season in the state finals. He was 41st with a 1.053.

 

Robbie Mikinnon of Birch Run and Austin Mowinski of Corunna were among the state finals bowling qualifiers in Division 3 at Jackson on March 1. Mowinski bowled a 1,092 in the qualifying block for 34th place. Frank Pavka of Corunna was 56th with a 963.

 

Grant Gage of Carson City-Crystal earned honorable status on the Associated Press Class C all-state boys basketball team. Cage averaged 12 points and seven rebounds a game for the Eagles.

 

Cedar Springs’ girls basketball team had two players who recently earned spots on the OK Bronze all-conference squad. Aubree Mouthaan was on the first team and Brittany Todd on the second team. Mouthaan had 14 points and Todd 12 points.   

 

Greenville’s girls basketball team had four players that recently earned all O-K Bronze all-conference honors. First-team members were Landon Kemp and Leah Somerfield. Honorable mention players were Paige Hallock and Nikota Howe. Kemp was at 10 points and four steals per game. Hallock was at eight points and three assists a game. Howe averaged seven points and five rebounds per game. Somerfield had 15 points and 10 rebounds per game.

 

Michael Anders of Corunna and Michael Carstens of  Bridgeport qualified for the Division 3 state bowling finals for boys March 1 at Jackson. Anders had a 1,165 for 17th place and missed advancing by four pins. Carstens shot a 1,138 and took 23rd place. The 16 top golfers from the qualifying block advanced to the next round.

 

Marcus Zinn of Portland was a participant in the Division 3 state Round of 16 for bowling at Jackson in early March. Zinn lost to Mike Margol of Fremont 376-359 in the Round of 16. He was seventh in the qualifying block with a 1,210. Another Portland qualifier was  Trenton Shaibly, who was 26th in the qualifying block with a 1,127.

 

Chase Badalamenti of Essexville-Garber was a state semifinalist in Division 3 bowling state finals in early March at Airport Lanes in Jackson. He lost in the semis to Zach Ulicny of Jackson Lumen Christi 429-350. In the quarterfinals, he beat Matt Kilberg of Ishpeming 377-351.
