Charlotte’s girls bowling team was a state quarterfinalist in the Division 2 finals at Waterford earlier this month. Charlotte lost to Escanaba 1,247-1,180. In the qualifying block, to make it to the next round of the tournament, Charlotte was fourth at 3,189.

Bay City Western’s girls bowling team made it to the finals of the Division 2 state tournament at Waterford and lost to Flint Kearlsey 1,260-1,120. Final individual game scores for Bay City Western were  Anna Kuehne 190, Claudia Gielda 173, Haley Delestowicz 137, Megan Rabideau/Taryn Butler 132 and Storm Butler/Kaylee Radwick 147.

Final individual games scores for Flint Kearsley were Kayla Emmendorfer 233, Anna Rutledge 170, Becca Iversen 161, Hannah Ploof 168 and Dani Doolan/Katelynn Maxwell 121 

 

 

Tarah Patsey of Owosso, Rebecca Williams of Cedar Springs  and Jordan Stone of Eaton Rapids competed in the Division 2 girls bowling state finals March 1 at Riverview Lanes. Patsey was 27th with 1,075 pins. Stone was 38th with a score of 1,014. Williams was 57th in 884.

 

Storm Buttler of Bay City Western competed in the Division 2 girls bowling state finals March 1 at Waterford. In the qualifying block, Buttler had a 1,102 for 21st place. Only the top 16 advanced to the next round. Also for Bay City Western, Haley Delestowicz was 24th in 1,098 and Anna Kuehne was 35th in 1,032.

 

Kendra Beutler of Ionia advanced to the Round of 16 in the Division 2 state finals at Waterford on March 1. Beutler lost to Hannah Ploof of Flint Kearsley 365-314 in the Round of 16. Beutler advanced to that round by placing in the top 16 of the qualifying block. Beutler was seventh with a 1,174. Brianna Thurlby of Ionia was 33rd with 1,053. Erin Nash of Ionia was 58th in 879.

 

Malorie Kiplinger of Charlotte was a player in the  Round of 16 in the Division 2 state finals for girls bowlers at Waterford. She lost in the round of 16 to Jordan Richard of Tecumseh 369-315. In the qualifying block, Kiplinger bowled a 1,169 and was ninth. The top 16 bowlers advanced to the next round. Ciarra Landry of Charlotte was 18th in 1,112. 

 

Calli Feier of Mason competed in the round of 16 in the Division 2 state finals at Waterford on March 1. Feier lost 455-352 to Jordan Richard of Tecumseh. Feier got the 16th and final qualifying block time with a 1,125.

 

Destiny Kennedy of Bay City John Glenn was a quarterfinalist in the Division 2 girls bowling state finals March 1 at Waterford.  Kennedy lost to Jordan Richard of Tecumseh 455-431. Kennedy defeated Malore Kiplinger of Charlotte in the Round of 16 by a score of 369-315.

 

Bowlers from Swartz Creek, Bay City Western, Mount Pleasant and Cedar Springs played in the state boys bowling Division 2 finals earlier this month at Waterford. Cal Wykes of Swartz Creek was 26th in 1,171. Dylan Bron of Western was 36th at 1,125. Alex McNeal of Mount Pleasant was 39th at 1,103. Dugan Conely of Cedar Springs was 41st at 1,095.

 

Two Lowell bowlers competed in the state boys bowling Division 2 finals earlier this month at Waterford. Jason Price was 25th in the qualifying block at 1,181 while Sean Ritzema was 60th with a 986.
