Haslett-Williamston-Bath had a consolidated gymnastics team this season that was 11th in the state at the girls gymnastics competition in March. The team score after competition in the vault, bars, beam and floor was at 135.675. Cara Clazizio, Megan Ivey and Chloe Izzo competed for the team along with Aly Johnson, Kikel Sekoni, Emily Sleight, Sydney Winkler and Julie Summitt

 

Lowell was 10th in the state at the girls gymnastics meet with a score of 135.750 after competition in the vault, bars, beam, and floor. Lauren Browning, Lauren Hann and Jordan Lytle competed for Lowell along with Corah Kaufman, Karmen Anderson, Colleen Coter, Danielle Krajewski, Betheny Kaczanewski and Meghan Plutschouw.

 

Grand Ledge was second in the state at the girls gymnastics meet in March. After competition in the vault, bars, beam and floor exercise, Grand Ledge was second at 144.250. Canton was first at 146.650. Competing for Grand Ledge were Rachel Hogan, Presley Allison, Maddie Loftus, Lexi Payne, Taylor Stevens, Janele Hall, Afton LaFrance and Tiana Seville.

 

Jordan Lytle of Lowell was 24th in 8.35 in the uneven parallel bars in the state gymnastics state meet in March in Division 1. In that same event in Division 2, Corah Kaufman of Lowell was ninth in 8.625 while  Lauren DeHaan was 22nd.

 

Alexa Espinosa of Holt was 18th in the uneven parallel bars in the state gymnastics meet in March with a 8.375. Lauren Sanford of Holt was 27th in 8.100.

 

Clara Clarizio of the Haslett-Williamston-Bath gymnastics team was 19th in the vault at the individual Division 1 state competition in early march. She was 25th in the uneven parallel bars at 8.25. Her teammate, Kikel Sekoni, was 10th in 8.6 in the uneven parallel bars. Clarizio was 25th in the uneven parallel bars in 8.25 and 29th in the balance beam in 8.15. Sekoni was 18th in all-round at 34.1.

 

Rockford was 12th in the vault event for Division 1 in state girls gymnastics competition in March. Her score was 9.2. She was 25th in unparallel bars at 8.250. She was 12th in the balance beam at 9.15 while Bri Stechebar was 15th at 8.95. On the balance beam for Rockford, Megan DiLeo was 33rd in 9.5. Korf was 21st in the floor exercise at 8.725. DiLeo was 15th in the floor exercise at 8.925. Korf was 18th in the  all-round event at 35.325.

 

Rachel Hogan and Presley Allison of Grand Ledge were the state’s top two finishers in Division 1 for the vault event in the state gymnastics competition during March. Hogan had an 9.725 and Presley at 9.550. Hogan was first in the uneven parallel bars at 9.75 while Presley was third in that event at 9.75. Rachel Hogan was fourth in the  balance beam at 9.425. Hogan was second and Allison third in the floor exercise. Hogan was second in all-around at 38.575 and Allison third at 37.875.

 

Ionia’s girls bowling team was a state quarterfinalist in the Division 2 finals at Waterford earlier this month. Ionia lost to Flint Kearsley 1,283-1,056. Ionia took the eighth and final spot in the opening round in order to qualify for the rest of the tournament, Ionia had a score of 3,011.

 

Owosso qualified for the state bowling finals for Division 2 girls at Waterford on March 1. The top eight teams qualified for the quarterfinals. Owosso was ninth with 3,001, and finished out of the eighth-place spot by 10 spots. Ionia placed eighth.
