Lakeview shot a 385 to finish third in its home invitational last Saturday. Jon Wandel had an 83 for the Wildcats, followed by Jon King with 98, Seth Kanouse with 101, Ben Outman 103 and Jake Park with 104.

 

Greenville’s golf team won the Lakeview Invitational last Saturday with a 330 to top Cedar Springs with a 381. Matt Crittenden fired a 78 for Greenville, followed by Danny Bohner with 84, Ryan Davis 84, Chris Ralph 85 and A.J. Ebels 86.

 

Big Rapids softball team swept Pine River 12-8 and 18-12 on Thursday. Rachelle Hendrick was the winning pitcher in the first game. Taylor Nemeth and Kelly Taylor had hits for Big Rapids Kailey Hunt was the winning pitcher of the second game. Erin Carlson and Cara Jensen had two hits apiece.

 

Big Rapids’ baseball team lost 4-2 and 4-0 to Pine River in baseball action on Monday. Sterling Brinker took the loss in the first game for Big Rapids.  Dakota Sanders had a two-run single for the Cards. Geoff Pisani was the losing pitcher of the second game.

 

Central Montcalm’s girls softball team swept Evart 18-0 and 15-0 in a pair of non-league doubleheaders on Thursday. Saydee Rowland had two home runs and three hits in the first game. Skyler Blaisdell, the winning pitcher, helped her own cause with a home run and four hits. Rowland had three hits and Maddy Christiansen two hits, plus a triple in the second game for Central.

 

Central Montcalm’s baseball team defeated Evart 15-0 Thursday in the first game of a doubleheader Thursday. The second game ended in a 5-5 tie after nine innings. Dalin Clark pitched three perfect innings in the first game for Central Montcalm. Todd Switzer threw the second game for the Hornets. Central is 3-7.

 

Belding’s girls track team defeated Comstock Park 113-22 in girls track action last week. Belding is 3-0. The Redskins were led by Gabby Holyfield, who won the discus and shot put and Summer Eubank, who took the 100 and 300 hurdles.

 

Forest Hills Eastern defeated Greenville’s track team 73-64 in boys action last week Austin Douglas won the 110 and 300 hurdles in 16.4 and 43.48 seconds. Carter Stephens won the 100 and 200. Jake O’Herron took the high jump and James Irish the discus.

 

Belding’s boys track team defeated Comstock Park 71-62 in boys track action late last week. Belding is 1-2. Andrew Swider led Belding with firsts in the 200 and 400 dashes, plus the pole vault. Trevor Curtis won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200.

 

Neil Feldpaush is coaching a St. Johns girls track team that will be led by Karrigan Smith in the 800 and 1,600 meter, Kayla Kraft in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters and Lyndsay Pung in the 400 meters, plus Emily Wohlfert in the 100 meters.
