Rockford’s boys track team lost 91-46 to East Kentwood last Thursday in O-K Red Conference action.

For Rockford, Kenan Swihart was second in the 400 meters (52.88), Jacob Day won the 800 meters (2:07.50) Isaac Harding won the 1,600 meters in 4:34.09 and the 3,200-meter in 10:00.19. The 4×2 and 4×4 relay teams were first in 1:33.09 and 3:30.5. Nick Alferink was first in the shot put at 43-4.

Midland fell to 11-8 with 3-2 and 1-0 losses to Mount Pleasant on Friday. Jonathan Hentscholl and Jordan Patty had strong pitching performances for Midland, which only had four hits in the entire doubleheader and struck out 23 times.

 

Mount Pleasant swept Midland on Friday 3-2 and 1-0. Aaron Leasher was the winning run in the first game with 15 strikeouts.  Joe Genia had the game-winning double in the second game which went five innings. Hunter Buckowski threw a no-hitter in those five innings for Mount Pleasant. Mount Pleasant is 11-4 and 8-1 in the SVL North.

 

Big Rapids’ softball team swept White Cloud 10-5 and 10-4 Friday in a CSAA doubleheader. Cara Jensen was the winning pitcher in the first game and Rachel Hendrick took the victory in the second game. Jensen and Kayla Chamberlain both had home runs in the first game. Jeri Nowak had three hits in the second game.

 

Morley Stanwood’s softball team lost 3-0 and 8-1 to Central Montcalm on Friday. Mallory Raven took the loss. Hayley Polaski took the loss in the second game. Brandee Malloy and Taylor Maguire had two hits apiece. Morley Stanwood is 4-4-1.

 

Chippewa Hills softball team improved to 9-3 with 12-0 and 16-6 wins over Lakeview on Friday. Cassidy Johnson fanned six batters and allowed one hit in going all five innings in the first game. Olivia Wolfe had two double and a single in the win. Kendall Boone was the winning pitcher in the second game.

 

Big Rapids lost 5-4 to White Cloud in baseball action Friday night Big Rapids is 3-7. Sterling Brinker was the losing pitcher. Tim Thebo and Josh Jones both had doubles. Dakota Sanders had two hits.

 

Morley Stanwood’s baseball team lost 3-1 and 4-1 to Central Montcalm on Friday in CSAA action. Tim Cairnduff was the losing pitcher in the first game. Austin Kozlowski had two hits and an RBI. Chase Huntey took the loss in the second game. Tom Carey had two hits and an RBI. Morley Stanwood is 4-6.

 

Big Rapids Crossroads defeated Clare 8-1 in girls soccer action on Friday. Scoring for Crossroads were Aubrielle Angelli, Alyssa Larson (two), Soraya Angell, Amber Guernsey, Katie Haner and Kayla Kuenzel.

Chippewa Hills baseball team swept Lakeview 15-1 and 5-4 in Central State Activities Association baseball action on Friday.

 

Brett Walcutt, a freshman was the winning pitcher in the first game. Kedrick Adams and Tyler Williams had a hit and two RBIs apiece. Williams was the winning pitcher in the second game.
