The Big Rapids Crossroads Cougars scored three unanswered first-half goals on their way to a 5-0 victory over Gladwin Friday night.

 

Alyssa Larson scored two goals for Crossroads, which improved to 7-2. Aubrielle Angell, Meron Slomp and Katie Haner also scored.

 

Montabella’s boys track team scored 101 points to take third last weekend in the Beal City Invitational, Jon Durham was second in the high jump at 5-5, first in the pole vault at 11-1, fourth in the discus at 113-9 and sixth in the shot put at 37-7.

 

Montabella’s girls track team was fourth at the Beal City Invitational last week. Katrina Buskirk led Montabella with a  third in the discuss at 89-10 and fifth in the pole vault at 6-6.

 

Carson City Crystal lost twice to Portland St. Patrick last week. Whitney LaVictor and Kendall Northon took the pitching loss. Hunter Vining and Karrigan Fick had two shots apiece in the second game.

 

Greenville’s girls softball team was 1-1-1 at the Allendale Invitational on Saturday. Devon Tate had a three-hit day with a 10-8 win against Hopkins. Elizabeth Niemic had a two-run home run in a 6-5 loss to Holland Christian. On a 10-4 win over Covenant Christian, Nikita Howe had three hits including a homer.

 

Kenzie Weiler led the way for Cedar Springs’ girls track and field team at Cedar’s home invitational in 11:02.35 on Saturday. Hannah Heintzelman, Shayne Mann, Maddie Pekryl and Weiler won the 4×8 relay in 10:18.9.

 

Landon Kemp was first in the 300 hurdles and second in the 110 meter hurdles to lead the Greenville effort in Saturday’s Cedar Springs Invitational. Kemp won the 300 in 52.72 seconds. She was also first in the pole vault at 11-0 and won the long jump at 16-8 ½.

 

Madison Rains threw the shot put 36-0 1/2 for first place for Rockford in the Cedar Springs Invitational last week. Maegan McCarthy was first in the discus at 111-01 and second in the shot put at 35-11.

Greenville’s boys track and field team competed in the Cedar Springs Invitational last weekend. Jake O’Herron was third in the high jump at 5-6. Austin Douglas was fourth in the hurdles events.

 

Central Montcalm’s girls track team scored six points last week at the Lakeview Invitational. Gwen Parks was fourth in the 400 at 1:10.11 and sixth in the 200 for Central at 30.13.
