Big Rapids Crossroads defeated Freedom Christian 15-10 on Tuesday in baseball action. Josh DuBril was the winning pitcher, striking out seven, James Strickland had three hits and three RBIs. Brooks Angell had three doubles and five RBIs. Crossroads is 6-15.

 

Lakeview’s baseball team swept White cloud on Friday 14-2 and 22-4. Kyler Ridgeway was the winning pitcher in the first game. Calvin Englund had four his in the second game and also was the winning pitcher with nine strikeouts.

 

Carson City-Crystal’s baseball team split a doubleheader with Vestaburg on Saturday, losing the first game 2-1 and taking the rematch 10-1 Jeremy Bigford was the winning pitcher in the second game. Jeremy Schneider had two hits and two RBIs.

Belding’s golf team was second in the O-K Blue Conference tournament on Friday with a 362 at Cedar Chase Golf Course. Brad Gilman led Belding with an 89 while Nick Badder and Grant Hansen both had 91s and Carter Kemmis carded a 97.

 

Lakeview’s girls soccer team fell to 7-6 with  6-3 loss to Grant on Friday. Brooklyn Reed had all three goals for Lakeview. Danieel Grant was the keeper for Lakeview and had 14 saves.

 

Greenville’s girls soccer team won its first game Friday against Sparta 2-1 Elise Ensing and Quinn Heyboer had goals for Greenville. Danato Paulino was keeper and had nine saves.

 

Chippewa Hills baseball team lost 2-1 and 6-1 to Hesperia in baseball action on Friday. RJ Simon was the losing pitcher in the first game. Jarrett Humpula took the loss in the second game. Austin Issette had two hits in the first game and a single in the second.

 

Morley Stanwood’s softball team lost to Holton on Friday 5-0 and 5-1. The Mohawks are 8-8-1 overall. Mallory Raven took the pitching loss in both games. Taylor Maguire had two hits for the Mohawks in the first game. Mekayla Carey had an RBI single in the second game.

 

Greenville’s softball team was 1-1 in the Belding Invitational Saturday. Greenville lost 9-2 to Belding and beat Hastings 11-4. Emily Schnepp took the loss in the first game with Nikota Howe getting three hits Sarah Newhouse was the winning pitcher against Hastings. Devin Tate had five hits.

 

Belding’s girls softball team defeated Greenville 9-2 and Hastings 21-4 in its home tournament on Saturday to take first-place honors. Paige Ledin was the winner in the first game led by Greta Wilker with three hits, including a home run. Ledin was the winning pitcher in the second game. Mariah Heintzelman and Brooke Linebaugh had four hits apiece.
