Central Montcalm defeated Big Rapids 7-4 on Thursday in Central State Activities Association action to improve its record to 19-10 Malory Morgan was the winning pitcher. Makala Studley had two hits.

 

Montabella’s golf season ended at the districts last week with a 403. Michael Hyde at 92, Dakoda Lobert 95, Josh Balhorn 99, Casey Ewell 117 and Cameron Nisonger 145.

 

Central Montcalm’s season ended with a 390 at districts last week for boys golf. Mason Ferguson and Calab Daggett had 85s, followed by Josh Mitchell at 99, Gunther Ebels 101 and Nate Saladin 129.

Greenville’s boys golf season ended at the districts last week with a 354. Danny Bohner led Greenville with an 84, followed by Matt Crittenden at 85 Ryan Davis 89, Chris Ralph 96 and AJ Ebels 98.

Lakeview’s golf team advanced to the regionals last week after shooting a 368 to take fourth in the Division 3 regionals at Scottville. Jon Wandell shot a 78. For Lakeview. Bennett Tomandl had 93, Ben Outman 97 and Jake Park and Seth Kanouse both had 100s.

 

Saranac improved to 19-8 last week with 3-1 and 17-2 victories over Montabella in nonleague action. Mariah Davidson and Maddy Miller led Saranac in hitting. Josie Manion and Miller were the winning pitchers.

 

Montabella’s softball team fell to 5-19 with 3-1 and 17-2 doubleheader losses to Saranac last week. Mariah Davidson had two hits in the first game. Kendra Stockwell had a two-run single in the second game.

 

Greenville’s softball team improved to 16-15 on Tuesday with a 13-4 win over Forest Hills Eastern. Sarah Newhouse was the winning pitcher. Nikota Howe belted a 3-run homer.

 

Davenport University’s new college wrestling program has signed Greenville’s Alec Ward to a national letter of intent. Ward is a three-time all-stater.

 

Swartz Creek’s girls track and field team finished 13th with seven point at the recent Division 1 regionals. Imani Taylor was third in the shot put for 34-11 ½.
