Okemos’ girls track and field team finished third with 72.5 points at the Division 1 regionals recently at Davison. Ashlynn Schiro won the 100 hurdles in 15.14 and the meter hurdles in 45.18 seconds. Ayda Alavi was third in the 400 meters in 1:00.78.

 

Midland’s girl track and field team finished second with 78 points recently in the Division 1 regionals at Davison. Jayden Williams won the 400 meters in 59.31 seconds. Rebekah Walter, Kaley Warner, Mariih Sherman and Jayden Williams were first in the 800 relay in 1:46.61. The 1,600-meter relay was first in 4:05.91.

 

Saranac scored 40 points for the girls track and field team to finish second among three teams in a recent CMAC meet at Fulton. Sadie Guernsey in the shot put (35-0) and discus (113-3) also took first.

 

Potterville’s girls track and field team scored 66 points to finish first in a three-team meet at Fulton recently. Taking firsts were Justice Britten in the 100 meters (14.13), Sam Stanton in the 200 meters (27.9) and the 100 hurdles (16.93), Emily Walter in the 400 meters (1:08.6), Logan Marsh in the 800 meters (2:51.85), Danielle Koepke in the 3,200 meters (14:34.48), Makayla Mires in the 300 hurdles (51.46), the 400 relay (53.92), 800 relay (2:03.74), the 1,600 relay (4:44.02). Dani Mehney in the high jump (4-8) and Justice Britten in the long jump (12-9).

 

Potterville scored 10 points for the boys track and field team in a recent meet at Fulton. Tyler Vermillion was second in the 3,200 meters in 12:04.59.

 

Fulton scored 25 points for the boys track and field team in a home CMAC meet in mid-May. Randy Johnson won the 100 meters in 11.49 seconds and Bohdan Hartman took the 1,600 meters in 4:39.44. Mitch Mills won the shot put (43.9). Brenden Hulbert on the discus n 123-7.

 

Saranac scored 101 points to win a CMAC meet recently at Fulton. Winners were Nathan LaWarre in the 200 meters (24.32), Hunter Hyde in the 400 meters (54.79), Braden Smith in the 800 meters (2:03.16), Greg Schafer in the 3,200 meters (11:18.62), Diego Contreras in the 110 hurdles (18.95), Logan Risner in the 300-meter hurdles (42.13), the 400-meter relay team (45.24), the 800 relay team (137.50), the 1,600-meter relay in 3:36.45 and the 3,200 relay in 9:11.58. Ryan Vance in the high jump (5-6), Brett Patrick in the pole vault (8-6) and Brandon Middaugh in the long jump (18-5) were other winner.

 

Chippewa Hills softball team clinched the Central State Activities Association title with a split against Reed City on Friday. Chippewa Hills lost the first game 3-2 with Cassidy Johnson taking the loss. Johnson was the winning pitcher in the second game. Olivia Wolfe had four hits.

Custer-Mason County-Eastern swept Crossroads 16-7 and 13-0 on Friday. Nate Worrall was the losing pitcher in the first game. Luke Zandstra was the loser in the second game.

 

James Strickland had two hits in both games. David Hunt had three hits in the second game.

 

Chippewa Hills baseball team swept Reed City 20-4 and 15-4 in Central State Activities Association action at Reed City on Friday. Tyler Williams and RJ Simon were the winning pitchers. Austin Issette had three hits in the first game. Hunter Conley, Kedrick Adams and Zack Sellers had homers in the second game.
