Mason shot a 319 on Friday in the Division 2 state boys finals at Michigan State’s Forest Akers West Golf Course is tied for seventh place after one day of acton in the two-day tourney. Tristan Brunst had a 73, Jason Brandt 78, Kaleb Peterson 81, Cody Culver 87 and Christian Smith 90.

 

Midland Dow and Grand Ledge have golfers that are doing well after one day of the Division I state finals Friday at Michigan State University.  Ben Roeder had a 70 for Dow and is one of the top golfers overall. Josh Arbour had a 79 for Grand Ledge.

 

Rockford shot a 924 and is in third place, one stroke out of first place, after one day of the Division I state finals Friday at Michigan State University. Detroit Catholic Central and Swartz Creek both have 293s for first place. Joel Pietila is leading Rockford and all scorers with a 68. AJ Verekois had a 71, Michael Cooper a 77 and Josh Stephan a 78 for Rockford.

 

Swartz Creek’s boys golf team is tied for first place at 293 at the first round of Division 1 state finals Friday at Michigan State University’s Forest Akers East Golf Course. Swartz Creek is tied with Detroit Catholic Central. Jack Weller has a 69 for Swartz Creek, while teammates Mike Kelley and Ben Zyber both have 72s.

Hemlock’s baseball season ended in the predistricts last week with a 6-0 loss to Sanford Meridian. Dylan Smith was the losing pitcher for Hemlock. He allowed 10 hits and fanned six batters.

Carrollton lost 11-1 to Sanford Meridian in district action on May 31. Brendan Conrad had two hits while Jacob Mejia, Nate Naples and Jared Sage had one hit apiece. Dante Parent and one RBI.

 

Sanford Meridian won its district title May 31 with an 11-1 victory over Carrollton. Christian Petre had four hits while Monte Petre had three hits and Damon Walter and Spencer Yahrmarkt contributed two hits apiece.

 

Saginaw Heritage lost 3-2 to Traverse City West last week in a district title soccer game. Heritage trailed 2-0 at halftime. Tayler O’Dell and Maddie Tweddle scored a goal apiece for Heritage.

 

Okemos won its Division 1 regional semifinal match on Wednesday with  5-1 with over Ann Arbor Skyline. Ashton Mille and Kristelle Yewah scored two goals apiece for Okemos.

 

Rockford’s soccer season ended in the Division 1 regional semifinals Wednesday with a 2-1 loss to Grandville. It was tied 9-0 after regulation. Rockford scored one goal in the first overtime and Grandville scored two in the second. Grace Bubin scored for Rockford.
