St. Charles shot a 343 to take 10th place after the first round of the Division 3 boys state golf finals at Grand Valley State University’s Meadows Course. Dustin Pumford had a 78 for St. Charles, followed by Hunter Koch with 79, Jeffery Wachowicz 89, Stefan Beeler with 97 and Jame Barber 99.

 

Lansing Catholic shot a 313 on Friday to take first place after one round of the Division 3 golf finals at Grand Valley State University’s Meadows Course. Ludington is second at 321. Two of Lansing Catholic’s top golfers are tied for fifth with Niko Voutsaras and Brent Marshall having shot 75s. Patrick Gillespie had a 77.

 

Zach Rosendale of St. Johns shot a 76 Friday in the Division 2 boys golf state finals at Michigan State University and is in 12 place among the top individuals.

 

 Mount Pleasant shot 343 and is in 15th place Friday after one day of the two-day Division 2 boys golf state finals at Michigan State University’s Forest Acres West Golf Course. Jack Pilkington had an 83 for Rockford, followed by Eddie Trudeau with 85, Jordan Pearsal 86, Colton Utterack 89 and Dan Kozlowski 93.

 

East Lansing shot a 328 to fall in 12th place after one day Friday of the Division 2 boys golf state finals at Michigan State University’s Forest Hills Acres West Golf Course. Joe Croom had a 76 for East Lansing, followed by Ian Carroll with 80, Paul Gagnier and Logan Wilcox with 86 and Matt Rogerson with 90.

 

DeWitt shot a  322 to take ninth place after one day Friday of the Division 2 state boys golf finals at Michigan State University’s Forrest Akers West Golf Course. Geoffry Croley had a 74 for DeWitt, followed by Owen Byer with 77, Mike Coscarelli 84, Cody White 87 and Josh Tempelman 90.

 

Mason shot a 319 on Friday in the Division 2 state boys finals at Michigan State’s Forest Akers West Golf Course is tied for seventh place after one day of acton in the two-day tourney. Tristan Brunst had a 73, Jason Brandt 78, Kaleb Peterson 81, Cody Culver 87 and Christian Smith 90.

 

Midland Dow and Grand Ledge have golfers that are doing well after one day of the Division I state finals Friday at Michigan State University.  Ben Roeder had a 70 for Dow and is one of the top golfers overall. Josh Arbour had a 79 for Grand Ledge.

 

Rockford shot a 924 and is in third place, one stroke out of first place, after one day of the Division I state finals Friday at Michigan State University. Detroit Catholic Central and Swartz Creek both have 293s for first place. Joel Pietila is leading Rockford and all scorers with a 68. AJ Verekois had a 71, Michael Cooper a 77 and Josh Stephan a 78 for Rockford.

 

Swartz Creek’s boys golf team is tied for first place at 293 at the first round of Division 1 state finals Friday at Michigan State University’s Forest Akers East Golf Course. Swartz Creek is tied with Detroit Catholic Central. Jack Weller has a 69 for Swartz Creek, while teammates Mike Kelley and Ben Zyber both have 72s.
