Stevensville-Lakeshore ends the Division 2 softball season at 35-9 after a 4-3 victory against Livonia Ladywood on Saturday at Michigan State. Lakeshore scored two runs in the fourth and two in  the fifth to take the victory. Haley Thibeault got the win, giving up three hits and striking out three. Rachel Riedel got a hit and two RBIs for Lakeshore.

 Unionville-Sebewaing’s softball team’s dreams of a 41-0 perfect season and Division 3 softball title were dashed Saturday at Michigan State University in a 2-1 loss to Gladstone from the Upper Peninsula. Unionville-Sebewaing, 40-1, had two hits from Stephanie Neuman.

 

Rogers City held back Kalamazoo Christian on Saturday to take the Division 4 state softball title at Michigan State. Rogers City had single runs in the third, fifth and seventh inning. Tori Sides, Rebekah VanDam, Dara Knasl and Eric Block had base hits for Rogers City. Nikki Radke was the winning pitcher for Rogers City.

 

Saginaw Nouvel’s girls soccer season ended with a 2-1 loss to Lansing Catholic in the regional finals earlier this month. The team scored goals in the first period. Lansing Christian won the game on penalty kicks.

 

Lansing Christian’s girls soccer season ended with 6-1 loss to Clarkston Everest earlier this week. Kristy Gomez, on an assist from Mikayla Terry, scored the only goal for Lansing Christian. Rachelle Trafford had 11 saves for Christian.

 

Freeland ended its girls soccer season 21-3-3 with a 3-0 loss to Detroit Country Day in a Division 3 semifinal game earlier this week. All scoring was in the second period. Hannah Foy was keeper for Freeland.

 

Okemos’ girls soccer team ended its season with a 3-0 loss to Northville earlier this week in the Division 1 semifinals. Goalkeeper  Caroline Serkaan had five saves for Okemos.

 

Reese’s baseball season ended with a 28-8-1 record on Friday in the Division 3 state semifinals to Grosse Point University Liggitt.  Both teams made three errors.  Justin Heinlien, Tony Bentley, Cody Peyok and Alex Duke had hits for Reese.

 

Beal City mercied Kalamazoo Christian  11-1 in six innings for the Division 4 semifinals on Friday at Michigan State University and will play in the  title game Saturday. Ty Rollin was the winning pitcher for the Aggies while Kurt Gross came up with the save. Ryan Tilmann had two hits and Beal City took advantage of five Kalamazoo Christian errors.

 

New Lothrop is in the Division 4 baseball state finals after a 3-1 semifinal victory against Maple City Glen Lake on Friday. New Lothrop only had two hits including two from Quintin. Taylor who had an RBI. Grant Steinborn had a hit and RBI.
