Lansing Waverly placed in a tie for fifth with 23 points in the state boys track and field Division 2 finals at Houseman Field in Grand Rapids recently. The 3,200-meter relay team of Dartanian Cook, Florian Schwarb, Trestin Mancellas-Finnerty and Qadir Muhammad was third in 8:00.14. Emmanuel Kirkland was seventh in 15.74 and Kevin Kirkland eighth in 15.98 in the 110-meter hurdles. The 1,600-meter relay team of Martin Bennett, Florian Schwarb, Qadir Muhamad and Dartanian Cook was first in 3:24.05.
