The Lady Jackets had a very busy end of the week this week. Ithaca played Bullock Creek on Friday, April 21st.
Game 1 Results: W 8-5. Ivy Davenport got the win for the Jackets. Offensively Ithaca was led by Megan Mankey, Madison Carman, and Hayden Whitmore who all added two hits. Faith Fisher, Emmalee Shankel, Alyssa McPherson and Whitmore all added doubles while Mankey added a triple.
Game 2: L 7-8. Lauryn Humphrey took the loss for the Jackets. Offensively Megan Mankey and Myah Maurer led the way each with 3 hits. Maurer and Quinne McMurphy added doubles on the night.
Saturday, April 22nd Ithaca headed to Beaverton for a tournament.
-Game 1 led Ithaca to playing the 6th ranked team in the state in our division and ithaca walked away with a 0-1 loss in the bottom of the 6th inning. Ivy Davenport took the loss for the Jackets. This game was a pitching duo with not many hits, however, Megan Mankey and Kennedi Ryan each added a hit.
-game 2 Ithaca came away with a solid win against Tawas 11-1. Lauryn Humphrey pitched the 5 inning game allowing only 1 walk and had 4 strikeouts. The offense was led by Kennedi Ryan with 3 hits. Hayden Whitmore and Megan Mankey each added doubles. The Jackets were also aggressive on the base pass. Leading the way on stolen bases was Ryan with 3 while Ivy Davenport and Faith Fisher each took 2 and Myah Maurer and Alyssa McPherson each took 1.
-game 3 led Ithaca to a challenge as we faced the current Division 4 state champs, USA. Ithaca held them to 5 runs losing 5-1. Ivy Davenport took the loss for the Jackets. Offensively Emmalee Shankel, Kennedi Ryan, and Ivy Davenport each added hits for the Jackets.
Next up is Ithaca’s first conference game against Valley Lutheran on Monday, April 24th. Then on to Chesaning on Wednesday and Standish on Thursday.
