Bullock Creek Lancers visited Clare Pioneers Monday evening for two games in very cold conditions. BC runs their record to 9-3 with a double header split, losing game one 4-6, before winning the nightcap 14-6.

Game one saw Creek out hitting the Pioneers (8 hits to 6 hits), but costly defensive misplays proved to be the difference. Mattie Midkiff took the complete game loss giving up 6 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 3. Offensively, Creek was led by Emmah Hanson who went 3 for 4 with 2 rbi’s. Maddy Bass was 2 for 3 with a double, while Avery Campau and Charlie Bass each added a double.

Game 2 proved that clean defense produces different outcomes. Zofia Jean threw a complete game win, allowing 6 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4. Creek’s 15 hits on the game was led by Mattie Midkiff who doubled twice and singled twice, and drove home 4 runs. Lillian Wassmann added 2 doubles and 1 single, driving in 2 runs. Emmah Hanson drove in 3 runs that included a long home run. Lilyan Spann and Kelsey Lovelace added two hits and 1 rbi each.

Creek will next play host to St. Louis in a TVC cross-over match up on Thursday, 4/27.
