Ovid Elsie 46. Chesaning 37
OE coach Ryan Cunningham: Tonight was a game of runs – we would make a run and they would answer. We made a nice run to close the first half and built a ten point lead only to see it evaporate in the third. I think that’s one of the biggest improvements I’ve seen from this young team – we didn’t panic and we didn’t fold. We battled back and answered with a run of our own.
I was really pleased with the way Braylon Byrnes and Hailee Campbell played especially in the first half. Ava Bates did a great job distributing from the interior of their zone and in general, we did a good job taking care of the ball.
Karissa Ferry was our focus defensively tonight because she does so much for that team and I thought we did a nice job on her.
Ovid-Elsie captures second place outright in the MMAC at 6-1 and improves to 11-e overall.
