This past Saturday the Frankenmuth Eagles hosted neighbor Birch Run Panthers at Candlelite Sports Center for the final TVC East contest of the season. Both teams came out of the gate a bit slow missing a few spares, but in the end anchorman Hunter Garchow marked in the 10th frame to take the first Baker 151 to 149.
Baker number two the Eagle found the pocket and produced some strikes firing a nice 210 vs 178 from Birch Run. With a 10 to 0 lead heading into Peterson number one Sophomore Nate Bauer took control firing his first seven strikes in a row ending with a fine 234 effort. Hunter Garchow also added in with a 214. The Eagles ran away with Peterson number one 907 to 733. The Final Peterson saw lead off man Cameron Severs string several strikes together for a 233, Garchow added in with a 181. The Eagles took the final Peterson 865 to 818. The Eagles took the Final TVC East match of the Season 26 to 4. Todays match was also Senior day and the Eagles only had one senior but a very important one. Hunter Garchow is a four year varsity bowler who has given his all to the Eagle bowling program. Hunter has finished the TVC East season averaging a 194.

Coaches Comments: This was a pretty good day for us, a solid win over a neighborhood rival. We are throwing a lot of strikes right now, I would say as many if not more than last season. Our spare shooting is still sub par, Im not happy at all with where we have stalled in our spare game. We have two weeks until Regionals and we will be putting in a lot of extra effort on spares in practice going forward.
It was a great final match at home for senior Hunter Garchow, the Covid protocols has bowling centers pretty empty during matches that would normally house 16 teams now see’s 4 teams. If this would have been a normal match Hunter would have herd a very loud round of applause from the TVC East Teams. He is very well known and well liked by all, I along with his teammates will miss him next season.
