The MNi=Mustangs hosted the Bears of Ashley on Thursday evening in a varsity only contest. The Mustangs jumped to an early advantage, leading 19-3 at the end of the quarter but the stampede had just begun. The Mustangs added 25 to their total in the second quarter in a half that saw 8 different players score. After a 44-14 halftime lead the Mustangs continued to run resulting in a final score of 70-34.
10 Mustang players scored 4 points or more on the night, a direct result of the 20 assists that the team had in the game. JT Smith and Chase Burggren each dished out 5 dimes, Evan Judge and Dakota Dykhuis both had 3 assists on the night as well. The team also hustled on the defensive end recording 18 deflections and 15 steals throughout the game.
The Mustangs travel to Vestaburg on Saturday for a 1 o’clock tip of a varsity only game day.
