The Montabella Mustangs traveled to Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart on Wednesday night. A slow start for the mustangs found them in a double digit hole most of the first half. The Mustangs didn’t quit, digging back into it and cutting the deficit to 4 early in the third quarter. The Irish countered with a run of their own and were able to hold the Mustangs off for the remainder. Final result, Irish 52, Mustangs 35.
The Mustangs were led in scoring by JT Smith with 19 points and Drew Kelsey scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. McKeegan Ferguson recorded 10 rebounds on the night as well. The Mustangs are now 2-5 and travel to Merrill on Friday night, Jv tip 6pm.
