Saginaw Michigan Lutheran Seminary defeated CHASE (homeschool of Flint) 57-55 on Monday night. CHASE hit 10 3’s in the game but it wasn’t enough to stop the Cardinal’s balanced attack. MLS led 16-12 after one quarter of play but CHASE’s Matthew Walsh hit five 3’s in the second quarter to take a 35-30 lead into the locker room. MLS cut the lead to one after the third. The game was close throughout the 4th. Tobias Edgett hit two big free throws when the game was tied at 55 to give MLS a two point lead. CHASE wasn’t able to convert on a last second shot. CHASE’s Matthew Walsh led all scorers with 23 points. Sam Korthals and Jack VanLue led MLS with 11 points each. Drew Reif had 16 rebounds for MLS. MLS plays @ Standish-Sterling on Tuesday.
