From Seth LaBair of Michigan Lutheran Seminary;

“MLS won its home opener 52-44 in overtime against Valley Lutheran.  MLS held a 43-34 lead in the fourth quarter but the Chargers scored the last nine points of regulation to send the game into overtime. Valley Lutheran had a chance to win the game at the end of regulation but missed a shot as time ran out. The Cardinals used a 9-1 advantage in the overtime period to come away with the win. It wasn’t the prettiest game but it was exciting. Eli Slangor paced the Cardinals with 17 points seven rebounds and four steals.  Drew Reif added nine points and 11 rebounds while Tobias Edgett had nine points and 10 rebounds for the Cardinals. Keaton Ringley led the Valley Lutheran attack with 17 points.”
