Josh Juillett (Jr.), Ashton Edie (Fr.), Ian Stephens (Jr.), Nate Morris (Jr.), Lucas Miller (Sr.), Tanner Clontz (Jr.), Griffin Barker (Fr.), Owen Fehrman (Fr.), and Brenden Marker (So.) all secured wins for their team on the way to a 52-24 Frankenmuth victory over Essexville-Garber.

Nate Morris (Jr.) defeated Patton Oswald, a returning Regional-Qualifier 16-6 to receive a major decision win and 4 points for his team at 135lbs.

Nate Morris went 2-0 on the day. “To say he was tuned up and ready to wrestle would be an understatement.” Nate defeated a returning Regional Qualifier in dominant fashion and is looking forward to a long-awaited Junior season for the Eagles.
Griffin Barker, a Freshman, really stood out on his Varsity debut with a pair of big pins to start off the day. He controlled his first 2 bouts and wrestled a great match against a Senior who is also a returning State-Qualifier. “For a Freshman, competing for his first time in a Varsity line-up, we couldn’t be more excited for his long and successful career to come as a Frankenmuth Eagle.” Griffin finished 2-1 on the day.
Ethan Fehrman is a first year wrestler who really seems to be picking it up fast. Ethan, a Sophomore, went 2-1 on the day for the Eagles and even bumped up a weight class to 171lbs to secure a big pin against the Falcons. “He has the right mindset and if he keeps it up, big things are in store for Ethan Fehrman.”
Brenden Marker is a second year wrestler and Sophomore. He went 2-1 on the day and bumped all the way up to the 285 pound weight class from 215 to capture a huge pin for Frankenmuth. “He wrestled well, stayed in good position, and captured a great win. He knows what’s expected of him and he just went out there and got it done.”
“Overall, we couldn’t be prouder of how this team competed today. There was great competition all around and we had some really big wins. We were a young team last year with only one Senior and we’re still a young team this year with only two Seniors. These guys know what they have to do to win. They go out and leave everything they have out on the mat. They wrestle with heart and grit every single time. If we get knocked down, we always get back up and come back for more. That’s just the wrestler way, and this team is starting to find it.”
