Western coach Demario Walker: “We started off good then we kind of fell apart in the second quarter! Luke Gillis hit two back to back to back 3’s off a dribble penetration. We struggle defensively, allowing players to get easy buckets out of the middle of the paint and they had a lot of easy layups in transition. They were quick which allowed them to advance the ball and we just got caught off guard after scoring a bucket. Our transition defense allowed them to have easy layups uncontested. We know we are a lot better defensively but I think not being able to practice a day before a game hurt us as well. Which is every teams issue, I have to believe, with the type of schedule we have this year. We aren’t complaining because we are happy to be on the court again we just have to make adjustments to practices that work in our advantage.”
