Carrollton picked up a win at home on Thursday night, defeating MLS 59-42. Carrollton had a slight advantage 28-23 at the half but they were able to slowly pull away in the 3rd quarter. D.J. Voltz scored 10 in the third quarter to help extend the Cavalier’s lead. Carrollton’s pressure caused the Cardinals to turn the ball over 23 times. MLS tried to hang around. Drew Reif finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds for the Cardinals.
MLS coach Seth LaBair: “Drew did a good job in the middle when we got him the ball. We’ve got to work on getting into a flow and feeling comfortable with pressure. The Carrollton guys did a good job moving the ball and they were patient on offense. Their pressure gave us trouble and we gave away a lot of offensive possessions. Junior D.J. Voltz led the Cavaliers with 21 points. Tay Jones added 15 for Carrollton. The Cardinals also had Tobias Edgett with 13 points and nine rebounds.”
