Bay City Western Boys 57, Bay City John Glenn Boys Basketball – 46
Jack Fryzel- Senior Guard – 28 points
Kason Frost – Freshmen Guard – 9 points
Western coach Demario Walker: “We got off to a very good start. Scoring 11 points in the first quarter and 11 in the second and only hold Glenn to 5 points in the second quarter. However, just when they are going well it turned very quickly for a few minutes multiple times. The game was close the entire time. We were up by 1 with two minutes away and hit a couple big shots like Luke Gillis 3 pointer in the corner, Jack Fryzel’s and 1 attacking the basketball and Kaeson’s drive to the basket.
“We were able to pull away with more free throws down the stretch. Glen wasn’t giving up and kept coming back at us with everything they had. Coach Clyde is changing the culture there and it’s noticeable, his players were doing a lot of things right. Coach Clyde will do very well there. We are happiest the most on the hardwood! We looked at this game as an opportunity to see what things we need to work on. It gave us a lot to be honest! We know going into Thursday’s game what we have to work on in our next two days of practice! None to less we are grateful to be able to play the game we all love! Sometimes we take things for granted but we definitely are excited about our season.”
