Hemlock’s boys basketball team improved to 17-1 overall and 15-1 in the TVC West with a 49-41 win over Ithaca on Tuesday. Hemlock led 26-20 at halftime. Nolan Finkbeiner had 17 points, Brady Devereaux had 12 and Jayden Evans eight. Brady Devereaux had nine rebounds and Michel Zolinski five while Jayden Evans and Max Dinninger had three apiece. Brendan Wood had 21 points and Trevor Wight 12 for Ithaca.
“This was definitely a grind it out game,” Hemlock coach Matt Bauer said. “I thought Nolan got hot at the right time and his teammates found him,” Bauer said. “Everyone is really playing some of the best basketball of his career right now. That’s what seniors should do at this time of the season. He and Evans were outstanding on the defensive end tonight.”
