Freeland 43, Frankenmuth 39

The Lady Eagles got out to a quick start against the conference-leading Falcons, leading by three after the first quarter and then extending it to a 30-17 margin at halftime. Frankenmuth’s offense was clicking, as the Eagles shared the ball and found open teammates throughout the half. At the other end, the ‘Muth defense also was playing well, stifling the Falcon offense and making it difficult for their leading scorer, Kadyn Blanchard, to get many open looks.

The second half proved to be much tougher for the Eagles. The Falcons ratcheted up their defense, holding Frankenmuth to just 9 second-half points, while they managed to knock down a few more open shots and slowly come back to take the lead late in the fourth quarter and seal the victory. With the win, Freeland clinches the TVC East title as they have a two-game lead in the standings with just a single conference game remaining.

Freshman Lexi Boyke led the way for the Eagles, finishing with 13 points, 6 boards, and 3 assists. Senior Kelynn Kujat and sophomore Zoey Persails each chipped in with 8 points.

For the Falcons, Kadyn Blanchard led all scorers with 21 points.
