Michgan Lutheran Seminary ended the first quarter with a 14-9 lead but Carrollton won the second quarter 25-10 and took a 34-24 advantage into the locker room. The Cavaliers continued their momentum and held a 55-34 lead after three quarters. MLS put together a great fourth quarter and closed the gap to six but Carrollton was able to hold onto their lead as they came away with a 68-58 win.
Coach Seth LaBair: “We’ve played some good teams really tough this season but it seems like we always have a bad stretch and it’s cost us some games. The Carrollton guys took the momentum late in the second and the third. It was too much for the guys to overcome. We play hard but we’ve got to get more consistency.” Carrollton was led by D.J. Voltz with 25 pts. and Jovante Jones-Buckner added 17. MLS was led by Nathan Seafert with 14 pts and eight rebounds. Logan Pankow contributed 12 pts, eight rebounds, four assists and five steals.
