The Ovid-Elsie Lady Marauders improved to 10-5 (7-4 MMAC) with a 67-6 win over visiting LakeVille. After a sluggish 9-4 first quarter, the Marauders picked up their defense and put together a 25-0 second quarter to take a 34-4 lead into the locker room at half. The Marauders outscored the Falcons 19-2 in the third and 14-0 in the fourth to close out the game.
Lauren Barton led all scorers with 13 points, while Kiah Longoria (6 assists) added 11 and Caitlyn Walter 10 points and 5 assists. Tristin Ziola and Kaylee Hall (7 steals and 5 assists) each chipped in with 8 points, Madison Cunningham 5, Onie Rademacher 4, Braylon Byrnes 3 points and 4 assists, Kalista Bancroft (5 assists) and Alexis Kusnier 2 points each, and Allison Reppenhagen a free throw to round out the scoring. All 11 players reached the scoring column.
The Marauders racked up 25 assists on 27 made baskets and collected 14 steals.
“This was a satisfying win tonight,” said Head Coach Ryan Cunningham. “It was our annual tribute night for our service men and women and we wanted to have a good outing. We wanted to show our respect and appreciation by playing hard for them.”
Ovid-Elsie will be off until February 13th when they travel to Montrose for a 5:30 p.m. top off against the Rams.
