Ovid-Elsie got back on track Friday night with a big road win, 51-29 at Durand. The Lady Marauders improved to 9-5 (6-4 MMAC). Lauren Barton led all scorers with 23 points and added 18 rebounds and 5 assists. Caitlyn Walter dropped in 12 points while Allison Reppenhagen added 7 points and 5 rebounds. Kiah Longoria added 6 points, and Braylon Byrnes 3.
After a 17-7 first quarter, OE extended its lead to 29-13 by half. A 13-11 third stanza made it 42-24 before OE edged Durand 9-5 in the fourth.
“I thought Barton played one of her best games of her career, there wasn’t many flaws in her game tonight,” said Head Coach Ryan Cunningham. “I was really pleased with how well Reppenhagen played tonight – she gave us some great minutes.”
Ovid-Elsie has a few days to recover now as many of the kids are battling illness and the flu. LakeVille will travel to OE for the annual Military Tribute game on February 7th. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
