“Okemos lost its top 3 players that could have returned this season in Ozan Colak, Josh Portnoy, and Benjamin Letzer,” Silker said. “All three of these players are pursing tennis at the highest levels. We wish them the best. This leaves Okemos with a lot to prove with a young team and many new to varsity players for this season. With the decision to opt up to Division 1, this team is very excited to see what it is capable of in the top tier of competition. Even though we lost some incredible talent, we return a strong and driven team that intends to still be a big part of the discussion for a state title at Division 1 in Midland at the state final.”
Rohan Shah enters the 2019 season with a record of 55-0. Druv Talluri enters with a record of 57-0. Coach Silker begins his 10th season with a record of 140-39-14.
