Dow tennis team has mixed day

The Midland Dow Chargers had a mixed day with results from the Ann Arbor Invitational Friday.

“Though the scores were not tallied when we left, Dow scored 11.5 points on the day.  ” Coach Terry Schwartzkopf said. “Most of those came from our single line up where we placed 3rd at 1 singles, 2nd at 2 singles, and 1st at 3 singles.  Dow next plays at home against Bay City Western.

 

“It was a very confusing day, to be honest. We were up and down throughout the matches.  What I noticed most is that we have a ton of raw talent in the doubles lineup that needs to be refined.  I believe once we have time to do that, many of these matches end differently.  Most of these boys have never played doubles before…and it is a different beast.  The singles played phenomenal.  I could not have asked for more.  Extra special congrats to Saketh for winning this tournament for the first time after fighting off five match points in the first round.  Kids a real player.”
