Name any freshmen/sophomores (and positions) who are moved up to varsity this year: Alexis Moreland, Paige Ewalt, Molly Dailey, Emily Delong, Kiera White are all girls who will contribute in the distances and sprints.

Captains (name and positions): Allyson Stevens (distance & high jump)

Key players this year and why: Allyson Stevens, Sarah McCrackin, Christina Schafer, (because they are multiple state qualifiers), Hannah Taeter and Paige Wadle for depth in the field events.

Number of years coaching:  8 years in track & field.  

Team expectations/goals for this year: Girls should contend for the MSAC title and qualify several individuals to the State Meet. 

Looking at your schedule and conference, what/who do you believe will be the most challenging this year?: Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart, Breckenridge and Montabella will all be contenders for the league title.  

Coach’s quote on outlook for upcoming season:We have more girls out than we have had since I started coaching track at CC-C.  We have numbers, which is good, but we also have many freshman and a few upperclassmen who have never done varsity track before.  It will be a learning experience for us as a team.

How many seniors? 7 (5 returners, including defending State Champion in Shot Put)

Name any freshmen/sophomores (and positions) who are moved up to varsity this year: Ashton Kieffer, Cavenaugh Barker, Zane Forist, Coleman Clark and Calvin Clark will all help with our team’s success.  

Captains (name and positions): Daryn Shepler, Dan Smith

Key players this year and why: Dan Smith (returning state champion in shot put), Daryn Shepler (hurdles), Coleman Clark (all state in Cross country), Cavenaugh Barker & Zane Forist (both set multiple school records as 8th graders).

Team expectations/goals for this year: Boys should contend for the MSAC title and qualify several individuals to the State Meet.

Coach’s quote on outlook for upcoming season: We finally have some depth on the guys side and some good athletes for each area (distance, throws, sprints) and that will help us contend for the league and get multiple people to the state finals.
