Coleman coach Clark Swerdan: “My three seniors got to go out with a bang in their last home game! I’m so happy about that. Senior Logan Schochnesse scored a career high 21 points, including 4 3’s in the first quarter. Senior Spencer Pnacek did a lot of the dirty work as usual & had 10 rebs & good interior defense. Senior Trevor Schrank got the start and played a great first quarter helping us to an 11 point lead.
10-10 is a great season for us. 7-7 in conference play, tied for 4th place. We’ve had 5 wins in the last 3 years combined (3 conference wins over that period), 3-18 last year. That’s a big jump. I’m proud of that.
Merrill played us tough tonight. They just wouldn’t go away. They cut the lead to 6 points (48-42) early 4th, but they guys held on.
This has been an extra special season for Seniors Logan & Spencer. Coming into this year they only had 7 career wins (in 5 seasons). They are doing their part as Logan is third on the team in scoring (10.0) and Spencer is second in rebounding (5.6) and our best interior defender.
We are now 10-10 (7-7 in MSAC). We travel to MPSH on Monday to play Vestaburg in the first round of districts.
Coleman JV lost 44-43. Jaden Bovee had 12 pts. Coleman JV finished the year 9-11 (6-8 in MSAC).
