Portland’s bowling team is hoping for another championship season.

William Armour III is the Head Coach of Portland Boys Bowling Team

The team bowls in the CAAC Blue Division

1.) Highlights of the 2017-18 : Armou: Portland was the CAAC Blue Division Champion we finished 11-1 although we finished 5th at regionals 2 spots from making it to states we did have 2 bowlers make it to states and 1 of them made it to 2nd in the Division 3 state finals. The team in competition threw 29 200 games

We had no seniors last year so all have returned. So this year we have 9 seniors on the team

Luke Dalman 11th grade last year made it to sates by winning regionals, and finished states in 11th. This year he is stronger and will compete for the state finals, the goal is to win. Jack Dalman 12th grade finished in 2nd at the state finals a great accomplishment, this year he will battle for the victory at states. Evan Warner 12th grade last year he missed states by 14 pins and is bowling better than ever I expect him to make it to states. Bennett Rushin 12th grade has really come into his own this year and will be our 4th bowler to make states, Jarod Huhn 12th grade is a strong 2 handed bowler and will be surprising a lot of people. Vaughn Cross 12 grade this year has moved to 2 handed and has always been very consistent. Aiden Pung 12th grade is capable of a 200 game every start. Noah Spedoske 12th grade will beat most peoples expectations and do it with a smile

This will be a special year the talent and passion we have to win will drive us to a CAAC championship, regional championship, and state finals. They have solidified as a team relying on each other to succeed we have 2 brothers 2 cousins and 19 friends bowling for 1 goal to be the best .

“The CAAC has some great teams but I believe we will be undefeated in league play and win, Dewitt second Ionia third.

‘These young Men are successful due to their Parents support, the Wagon Wheel, their coaches and the Portland community. We are a club sport and a lot of money is needed to run an organization like this one. I would just like to thank them. Lastly we have a very good JV team that will make their splash next year.”
