Owosso took on Corunna on Tuesday night. The Trojans have been having a great season and that continued with a win over their rivals. The Trojans won 10 of 12 events and Owosso’s depth helped them score numerous points the final score was Owosso 114 Corunna 69. In the month of October the girls have a lot of good hard practices and the work is starting to pay off. The Trojans have one more fun meet vs Keasley on Senior Night Thursday, then they get ready for the conference meet. The Trojans always swim well at the conference meet and their coach is looking forward to seeing how fast the girls will be in a few weeks.
In the first event the team of Lily Davis, Lily Espinoza, Allie Pumford and Madison Livingston took 1st, while the team of Macy Irelan, Faith Gates, Mya LaMay and Erika Ochodnicky came in 3rd, the team of and finished Hannah Yerrian, Cali Spalding, Madisyn Ketchum and Abby Christian came in 5th. In the 200 free Maddy Kregger finished 2nd for Owosso, Lauren Taylor was 4th and Brooklyn Crackle was 6th. In event 3 the IM for the Lily Davis took 2nd for the Trojans, Madison Livingston was 3rd and Madisyn Ketchum was 6th. In the sprint event the 50 free Allie Pumford touched 1st, Mya LaMay was 3rd, Cali Spalding was 6th. The divers were up next with Katie Clevenger taking 1st and Faith Gates taking 4th. In the fly Macy Irelan got another win for Owosso, Livingston came in 4th. The 100 free saw Owosso sweep the top 3 places Ochodnicky got the win, Mya LaMay was 2nd and Alexis Chamberlin was 3rd. In the 500 Allie Pumford got the win, Maddy Kregger placed 2nd, Marissa Spalding was 5th. In the 200 free relay the Trojan team of Chamberlin, LaMay, Espinoza and Ochodnicky got the win. The team of Cali Spalding, Ketchum, Christian and Taylor was 3rd. In the backstroke the Trojans got another win with Irelan, Davis was 3rd, and Yerrian was 6th. In the breaststroke Espinoza touched first for Owosso, Ochodnicky was 3rd, Gates was 4th. In the final event the 400 free the team of Pumford, Davis, Irelan and Livingston got the final victory of the night, the team of Chamberlin, Taylor, Kregger, and Marissa Spalding finished 3rd.
