Like all senior nights, energy was high and seniors were determined to have a great performance and win for their last time to play on their home court. In front of a large crowd and strong student section the three senior Falcons did just that.
Taylor Bakos, Lauren Moon and Madison Wegner lead their team to a 3-set win over the Panthers; 25-21, 25-14, 25-10. Four-year varsity member, Bakos, gave the team 5 kills, 1 ace and led the team with 2 blocks. Moon changed position this season wearing the libero jersey and tonight she showed why she has earned that honor leading the team with 13 digs. As one of the emotional sparkplugs on the team for the past two season, Wegner came in tonight and had the match of her career. She had 6 digs, 7 service receptions, 3 assists and 2 aces; her final one finished off the match.
Caitlinn Pistro leading the team with 9 kills. Elli Howard and Leiya Rybicki both contributed 6 kills. Grace Walker dished up 22 assists and lead the team with 3 aces.
Freeland’s TVC Central record is now 3-0—the only undefeated team remaining—and an overall record of 19-6-5. The Falcons are back in action on Saturday, October 13 in Mt. Morris.
