The sister combination Hailey and Alyssa Leister is among the weapons Alma volleyball coach Kristi Lippert and her team have been presenting to opponents this year.
The Panthers have been working to get above the .500 mark.
Hailey Leister and her sister Alyssa have been playing key roles for Alma.
“Hailey is an outside (hitter) and Alyssa is a setter in the middle,” Lippert said. “They both are very competitive and they both are powerful. They bring that competitiveness and that power for us.”
Danielle Bastion “is playing well for us too and is a senior middle.”
The Panthers hope to keep picking up momentum and enjoy the same type of success in the postseason as they did a year ago.
“We have a solid group of returners who had good experience and good success last year, winning a district title and going to the regional finals,” Lippert said. “They have experienced success in wanting to build on that. We also have a younger group new to the team coming. We’ve worked hard to bring the two groups together for a common cause.”
This includes the combination of the Leister sisters with Lippert confident the blending of a senior and sophomore will help the Panthers have success for the rest of the reason.
