Mason Sumner of Breckenridge is having a strong cross country season. Last week at the BlueJay Invite he took 2nd with a time of 16:39 as a freshman and was beat by Ben Jacobs of Corunna who took 3rd in Division 2 state finals a year ago. This past Saturday, Mason claimed his first high school win at the Lancer Invite with a time of 16:59. This comes as no surprise as he was the fastest middle school cross country runner in the state last year. Mason is currently ranked 4th in division 4 and is the second fastest freshman in the state.
