After three days at their annual team camp, the Beal City Varsity Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country teams opened the 2018 season on Saturday, August 18th at the Ryan Shay Memorial Meet in Central Lake. With 15 D4 schools competing, the Aggie boys placed 3rd. Alex Taylor led the team with a fifth place finish in 11:09.6 over the two-mile course. Derek Gross (16th, 12:07.8), Levi Eisenbach (21st, 12:17.0), Michael Hopkins (25th, 12:40.4), and Nathan Reihl (30th, 13:13.2) rounded out the Beal City scoring five. With two athletes, the Lady Aggies were not able to post a team score, but freshmen Rachal Weber (7th, 13:42.7) and Emma Gross (10th, 14:00.8) both opened their varsity careers with top-10 finishes.
