BERKLEY – Warren De La Salle opened up a 29-point lead Friday night en route to a 36-14 triumph over Birmingham Brother Rice at Hurley Field in Berkley.

The Pilots improve to 3-1 with the victory, while the Warriors drop to 2-2.

De La Salle put its first points on the board with 5:20 left in the first quarter as Luke Pfromm scored on a 2-yard run to make it 7-0, which is how the stanza would eventually end.

But in the second quarter, the Pilots put the clamps down beginning with a Cordell Tannyhill 63-yard touchdown run to extend the advantage to 14-0 with 8:17 left in the half. Shortly thereafter, De La Salle blocked a punt through the end zone for a safety to increase the advantage to 16-0.
