“After a rocky start and some penalties that allowed River Valley to keep a drive going, we settled in and played tough, hard nosed football,” Ashley coach Kevin Saylor said. “I’m very proud of the toughness we showed, after getting down early we were able to stop their rushing attack before it could get started and we put together three drives of our own to finish the game 20-8. After a 4 hour bus ride and a quick punch in the mouth, our boys shook it off, woke up and delivered a few back. It’s a good start to what will hopefully be a good year.”
