DETROIT — Fifth-ranked Jackson Lumen Christi is back on top once again.

 

The Titans captured a 26-14 victory Friday over sixth-ranked Maple City Glen Lake in the Division 6 state finals at Ford Field for their first state title since 2009.

 

It marked Lumen Christi’s seventh state title overall in eight total trips to the championship game. The Titans (12-2) also won in 1977, 1979, 1996, 2003, 2004 and 2009. 

 

Bo Bell racked up 238 yards on a workhorse 40 carries and scored a touchdown for Lumen Christi, which never trailed.

 

Kyle Minder (66 rushing yards on 21 carries) scored on runs of 3 and 1 yards to put the Titans up 13-0 in the second quarter. Minder added a third touchdown only 10 seconds before the half on another 1-yard plunge.

 

Bell scored Lumen Christi’s final TD on a 3-yard run in the third quarter. The Tians out gained Glen Lake 396-258 on the day.

 

Cade Peterson finished 15-for-20 passing for 254 yards for Glen Lake. Nick Rice caught five passes for 116 yards for the Lakers (11-3).
