Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart (24-1) has advanced to the Class D state finals for girls basketball. The Irish beat Stephenson (24-3) from the Upper Peninsula, 45-38, on March 17 in the state semifinals. Averi Gamble had 13 points for Sacred Heart and 13 rebounds. Scout Nelson and Sophie Ruggles had 10 points apiece.
