Alexie Flaminio of Midland Dow is another area soccer player planning on taking her talents to Michigan Tech. She signed recently with the Huskies.
“I went there last year for a visit just to get to the expos there,” she said. “I went there and I decided it could be one of my top three choices. The coach came and watched me play a couple of times and offered me a spot on the team, and I decided to commit. Everyone was so friendly. The teammates were amazing. I have [a portion of] my family up there. We have a cottage about two hours away up there and that’s where a lot of my mom’s side is located.”
Flaminio plays defense and mid at Dow.
“Up there, they are looking to put me as a defensive mid,” Flaminio said. “It’s like a happy medium.”
Flaminio’s fourth year is coming up at Dow. The program has made it to regionals a few times during her time there.
