Jamie Brisson of Bay City John Glenn has decided to take her talents to Michigan Tech University.
“It’s one of the only schools that has my (biomedical engineering) degree,” she said. “It seemed like the right fit.”
It was a late decision for Brisson.
“I was planning on going somewhere else just for school,” she said. “They contacted me and I realized I wanted to keep playing soccer.”
Brisson plays midfield for John Glenn. But at Michigan Tech, “they’ll probably move me around to defensive and attacking mid,” she said.
Brisson will be starting her fourth varsity season this spring. She was all-conference and all-district last season.
“I try to be a strong, well-rounded player and play defense and put the ball on people’s feet,” Brisson said.
Right now, Brisson is focusing on the upcoming spring soccer season.
“We want to win districts and the conference,” she said. “I want work on being able to score and be in more of a forward position.”
